Senior Android Engineer, Client Platform

Responsibilities
- Lead architectural initiatives addressing the slowest areas of the Android app, including startup and critical learning flows.
- Own and evolve performance tooling for tracing, benchmarking, and automated regression detection.
- Serve as a bridge between Client Platform and Product feature teams on performance data and remediation.
- Mentor engineers and foster engineering excellence around application performance.
- Investigate and resolve ANRs, memory leaks, dropped frames, and complex crashes.
Requirements
- Experience shipping large-scale Android applications.
- Strong Kotlin skills and deep familiarity with coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and modern architecture patterns.
- Experience optimizing startup time, memory usage, and network usage for low-memory devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to tackle difficult technical challenges.
- Preferred: expertise with AndroidX Tracing Library and Perfetto, plus experience with Sentry and Android Vitals.
