The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I plays a critical role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures. This position involves preparing the lab and operating essential equipment, including fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition. The role ensures accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements. Aseptic technique and patient safety standards must be maintained at all times. The Technologist I actively collaborates with the medical team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency. The individual serves as the radiation safety representative during X-ray usage. Continual development of proficiency in specialized cath lab technologies is expected. Responsibilities include ensuring major equipment is operational and documenting quality control measures. Participation in daily room checks and stocking of supplies is required. Accessing daily patient schedules and relevant patient information for assigned procedures is necessary. Proper equipment, supplies, and room configurations must be ensured for all procedures. The Technologist collaborates with the procedure team to ensure appropriate patient care and departmental efficiency. Accurate patient information must be entered into cath lab computer and imaging systems. Procedure documentation, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG recognition are essential during assigned procedures. It is important to ensure the patient's position is appropriate and safely secured on the procedure table. Training and competency completion in setting up and operating cath lab equipment is required. Anticipating the needs of the physician and ensuring patient safety when scrubbing procedures is essential. Strict adherence to aseptic technique is required during all procedures. Compliance with organizational policies related to patient safety, privacy, and infection control is mandatory. Collaboration with team members to share and gain knowledge fosters teamwork and cohesion. Engaging in patient transport to support the department and team is encouraged. Proficiency in access site management must be obtained and maintained. Acting as the radiation safety representative during X-ray usage is part of the role.
