Your Role as the Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate daily care to our residents. In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting residents' health, comfort, and quality of life while helping maintain a warm, home-like environment. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you'll ensure medications are administered correctly, residents are monitored closely, and care is delivered with dignity and respect. Summary The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for administering prescribed medications, supporting residents with activities of daily living, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with state regulations and Americare policies. This role works collaboratively with nursing staff and caregivers to promote resident safety, wellness, and person-centered care. This role may also be known as: Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Technician, (CMT) Med Aide, Level One Medication Aide, (L1MA) or Medication Assistant. What You'll DoAdminister prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staffVerify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observationsMonitor residents for medication responses and report adverse reactions or concerns promptlyAssist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobilityRecognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staffMaintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as orderedAssist with admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as requiredSupport team members by providing assistance as neededPerform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and common areasAnswer phones, greet visitors, and assist with tours as requestedWhat You BringQualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) program that meets state requirementsActive CMA certification in good standingSkills & AbilitiesAbility to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary care teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to medication safetyCompassionate, resident-focused approach to careClear communication skills and professionalismPhysical DemandsLift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as neededPush, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistanceManeuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.Safety RequirementsFollow proper resident care procedures, including two-person lifts when requiredUtilize required PPE to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogensReport work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentationParticipate in company drug testing proceduresWork Environment This role is performed in an indoor healthcare environment with appropriate lighting and ventilation. Duties may occasionally include accompanying residents to outdoor or community activities.
