Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
This position entails providing specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room setting. The RN will support orthopedic, urology, spine, and robotic procedures, demonstrating circulating skills and collaborating with the surgical team.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and circulate during heavy orthopedic, urology, spine, and robotic surgeries.
• Assess patients pre, intra, and post-operatively, ensuring optimal care and safety.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Document all clinical observations and procedures accurately in medical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Valid CPR/BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with operating room nursing, including circulating skills in orthopedic, urology, spine, or robotic surgeries.
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients across various hospital units.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills.
• Willingness to float to other facilities as needed and participate in call requirements.
