Operating Room Registered Nurse

Travel OR RNFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13 week travel assignment in Pleasant Prairie, WI. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RNValid RN license in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS certification (AHA/ARC)Essential Work Functions:Prepare the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedureAssists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirementsMaintains a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhering to infection control protocols and sterile techniqueAnticipates the needs of the surgical team providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflowMonitors patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon of any significant changesHandles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring their proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocolsManage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic resultsDocuments all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughlyParticipate in patient handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases ensuring continuity of careAssist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocolsCollaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standardsFollow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measuresPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is requiredAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
