Manager, Raw Materials

The Manager, Raw Materials will support the execution of raw material sourcing, procurement, and supplier management. Responsibilities will focus on the sourcing, costing & pricing of ingredient raw materials, supporting quality, service, continuous improvement, and value performance across the supply chain in the direct support of CH Guenther and her operating Divisions. The Manager, Raw Materials, will focus on the following categories: Chocolate, Food Chemicals and other products as required.The Manager, Raw Materials will support the execution of raw material sourcing, procurement, and supplier management. The Manager, Raw Materials, will focus on the following categories: Chocolate, Food Chemicals and other products as required.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop, generate, communicate, and execute clear sourcing strategies to ManagementManage inbound logistics and resolve problems with selected raw materials as neededManage the contracting and raw material costing in an SAP environmentManage contract balances relative to organizational expectationsCreate the annual budget for area of responsibilityResolve PPV and costing, and invoicing issues as they ariseFacilitate key supply relationshipsSupport sales, marketing, and CHG finance needs relative to responsibilitiesFinancial Risk Management: 25%Responsible for the Corporate financial exposure of raw materials relative to future cash flowsCreate a market-based budgetCreate and execute strategic sourcing projectsCreate and execute a standard costing processMaintain awareness of market conditions; create market projections, and gain approval/buy-in for the execution of various physical contracts to mitigate adverse market price volatilityPhysical Risk Management: 35%Responsible for managing/implementing various sales initiatives as they relate to ProcurementSupport R&D & customer-directed sourcing effortsRepresent Procurement on product launch and reformulation teamsAccountable for servicing both direct and indirect production facilities through the centralized procurement raw materialsCreate physical supply strategyEnsure the adherence to service commitments, specification commitments, and Continuous Improvement initiativesProblem solving, mediation, resolutionProductivity: 30%Responsible for identification and execution of cost savings projects, sales, quality assurance, and research initiativesParticipate on multidisciplinary teams to accomplish Continuous Improvement initiativesIdentify strategic relationships and build the business case for long-term relationshipsFacilitate business meetings that align supplier and CHG objectivesIdentify and execute cost savings projectsReporting: 10%Manage PPV and budget varianceReport raw material positions relative to expectationsCreate and execute a standard contract reconciliation processManage SAP system informationMinimum Job Requirements:Education/Certifications:High School Diploma RequiredBachelor’s Degree Required: Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline preferredExperience:Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, ingredient purchasing requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Understanding of food ingredients, application, formulation, and regulatory processesEffective interpersonal and strong written/verbal communication skills requiredA proven track record of quickly identifying and resolving problem areasDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills requiredFlexibility and adaptive to a rapidly changing environment Strong Excel-based PC analytic skills requiredSAP experience preferredTravel- ~15% or as requiredWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:Work involves light exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise.Moderate physical effort required such as standing, sitting, and walking in and around the office; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; reaching, climbing, and kneeling as needed; utilizing fine dexterity, the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. The salary range for this role is: $89,026.00 - $163,399.00Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location.C.H.
