Family Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary

Dominion Health is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our growing primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare services to patients across the lifespan, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute illness treatment, and health education. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
* Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
* Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging results.
* Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and practice protocols.
* Provide preventive care services, including annual wellness visits, health screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling.
* Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, and other common primary care conditions.
* Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to clinical guidelines.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations and standards.

QualificationsRequired

* Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
* Current Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
* Active and unrestricted [State] Nurse Practitioner license.
* Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
* Current BLS certification.
* Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
* Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EMR).

Preferred

* 13 years of experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or community health.
* Bilingual skills (English/Spanish preferred, if applicable).
* Experience managing patients across all age groups.

Work Environment

* Outpatient primary care clinic setting.
* Fast-paced environment with direct patient interaction.
* Typical schedule: MondayFriday, 8-5pm.
* No hospital rounding or call responsibilities.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
