Genetic Counselor Assistant (per diem) page is loaded## Genetic Counselor Assistant (per diem)locations: EVH Evanston Hospitaltime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R41084**Hourly Pay Range:**$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.**Position Highlights:*** **Position:** Genetics Counselor Assistant, Department of Medical Genetics* **Location:** Evanston Hospital – Evanston, IL* **Full Time/Part Time:** Per Diem (As needed)**What you will do:*** Provide brief conversation related to the benefits of testing, clinical utility of testing, and the possible family impacts of genetic testing.* Assist patient with decision to schedule an appointment or obtain testing for patients scheduled in GCC schedule* Document personal and family history and gather information necessary to determine reason for visit* Support informed decision making regarding genetic testing and health management options* Schedules new and established patient visits in accordance with patient preference and physician availability* Coordinate patient care daily via check-in, order input, paperwork organization, end of day follow up of no-shows/cancellations* Administrative duties as it relates to patient care and follow through**What you will need:*** **Education:** Bachelor’s degree required* **Experience:** Minimum one year of work experience in genetic counseling setting preferred. Experience with Epic or other EMR system preferred.* **Skills:** Strong communication skills. Ability to be flexible in meeting the demands of patients and physicians.
