Sterile Processing Technician Lead

As a Lead Central Sterile Technician, you'll help deliver safe, high-quality care by ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are expertly cleaned, sterilized, and ready to use. With strong attention to detail and by leading through example, you'll help create a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement that drives excellent outcomes and improves lives every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the preparation, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, making sure all items are properly cleaned and ready for use
• Organizing instruments and equipment based on surgery schedules and special case needs
• Monitoring sterilization processes and equipment performance, keeping accurate records, and promptly reporting any issues
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workspace that supports the team and upholds the highest infection control standards
• Training and supporting team members to work safely, follow best practices, and care for every patient like family

What qualifications you will need:

• 1 year of previous experience working with instrumentation and infection control procedures
• 3 years of previous experience working with instrumentation and infection control procedures preferred
• Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) preferred
• Sterile Processing Technician certification from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSSM) OR Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required within 6 months of hire
• High school graduate/GED
• 1 year of college in a related field preferred
• Completion of an accredited sterile processing program within 6 months of hire, OR 5 years of experience working at St. David's Medical Center in Sterile Processing
