Job Title: Machine Operator- 1st Shift

Job Description

This fabrication role involves operating a wide range of metalworking equipment, performing precision layout and measurement, and completing metal finishing tasks to produce high-quality components. You will work with press brakes, punch presses, drill presses, milling equipment, lathes, and various hand and bench tools, while interpreting blueprints and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly-ready parts.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, punch presses, drill presses (large and small), metal rolling equipment, milling machines, and lathes to produce metal components according to specifications.
• Perform layout duties, including tapping holes, metal finishing, and transferring dimensions and details from blueprints to workpieces with high accuracy.
• Conduct routine maintenance on fabrication equipment, including changing punches and dies, monitoring equipment for proper function and calibration, and removing debris to maintain safe and efficient operation.
• Use hand, bench, and light machine tools to perform tapping, deburring, filing, grinding, and polishing on sawed and machined parts.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and bills of material to determine job requirements, dimensions, materials, and operational sequences.
• Use tape measures, squares, scribes, calipers, micrometers, protractors, punches, and other measuring devices to ensure precise measurements and accurate fabrication.
• Select appropriate speeds and feeds, tooling, and operational sequences based on material type and the nature of the operation to achieve quality results.
• Utilize overhead cranes and fork trucks to receive raw bar stock steel, perform material inspection, verify packing lists, and store steel inventory safely and efficiently.
• Verify accuracy of alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, and corresponding machine orders, and perform general inspection to meet quality standards.
• Set up and operate shears, punches, presses, and other sheet metal processing equipment to perform cutting, bending, punching, burning, and slotting processes that conform to quality standards.
• Post material out of stock and complete required paperwork and documentation related to material usage and inventory.

Work Environment

This position operates on a first-shift schedule, typically starting at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Voluntary overtime may be available on Fridays or occasionally Saturdays. The facility is very clean and well-lit, providing a comfortable and safe environment for fabrication work. The shop uses Milwaukee tools and a variety of fabrication equipment, including overhead cranes and fork trucks, in a structured and organized setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Beaver Dam, WI.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Beaver Dam,WI.
