Client is located in the beautiful Coastal Virginia region. Chesapeake is an outdoor lover's paradise, offering hiking trails for all experience levels. Enjoy more than 20 waterways to explore. This assignment takes place in a medical-surgical and telemetry unit. The schedule options available are 3x12s or 4x12s. Travelers are required to work every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract. Longer assignments may be available but are not required. Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays. The typical patient ratio is 1:7. Please confirm that candidates are fully informed and comfortable with the patient ratios before submission. Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: - Two years of recent relevant experience. - Two years of travel experience. - An active Virginia or Compact RN license. - Proficiency in Epic. The facility will not consider candidates with any license or background hits. Candidates should be thoroughly reviewed before submission. Compliance requirements include: - Flu vaccine is required, while medical or religious exemptions are allowed. This unit cares for a wide variety of medical and surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, SBO, Diabetes, cellulitis, wounds, ESRD, GI issues, GU issues, oncology patients, altered mental status, and high fall risk patients. Special procedures in the unit include blood administration, Heparin infusions, wound care, nasogastric tubes, PEGs, surgical drains, and central line care. The facility does not accommodate a PAPR for fit testing and does not offer study materials for tests. All tests include rhythm identification and complex identification, and a passing score is required to continue. Candidates must be prepared to complete required modules prior to the start of their assignment.
