Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (645 PM - 715 AM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in clinical interventions, patient and family education, patient assessment, and development of a plan of care Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit while promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments as per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor or preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the practice governance model.
