Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong Tableau experience to support the development, integration, transformation, and visualization of data across our analytics environment. This role will focus on building and maintaining reliable data pipelines, developing and optimizing data models, ensuring data quality, and enabling business reporting and analytics through Tableau.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with SQL , data engineering, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms, combined with advanced expertise in Tableau. The candidate should be comfortable working across the data stack, from source systems and transformation pipelines through curated data models and final Tableau dashboards.

Requirements

· Advanced experience with Tableau, including dashboard and workbook development, calculated fields, parameters, filters, actions, sets, and interactive visualizations.

· Strong experience designing and maintaining Tableau data sources, including relationships, joins, extracts, and live connections.

· Strong understanding of Tableau performance optimization, including dashboard performance, query optimization, extract optimization, and efficient data-source design.

· Experience connecting Tableau to Snowflake and other enterprise data sources, including troubleshooting connectivity, refresh, and data availability issues.

· Strong proficiency in SQL , including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, joins, aggregations, and query optimization.

· Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse.

· Strong understanding of data modeling, including fact and dimension tables, dimensional modeling, and analytical data structures.

· Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation processes.

· Experience preparing and optimizing analytics-ready datasets for reporting and business intelligence.

· Experience with data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks.

· Ability to troubleshoot data, SQL, pipeline, and Tableau issues and identify root causes.

· Experience working with large datasets and optimizing data structures and queries for performance and scalability.

· Ability to translate business requirements into Tableau dashboards, KPIs, reporting solutions, and supporting data models.

· Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, BI teams, QA, Architecture, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, workbooks, and data sources for business reporting.
• Create advanced Tableau visualizations using calculated fields, parameters, filters, actions, and sets.
• Design and optimize Tableau data sources , including live connections and extracts.
• Improve dashboard performance, scalability, and user experience through query and visualization optimization.
• Integrate Tableau with Snowflake and other enterprise data sources , resolving connectivity and refresh issues.
• Translate business requirements into KPIs, dashboards, and analytical reporting solutions .
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to support reporting and data transformations.
• Design and maintain data models and analytics-ready datasets for reporting.
• Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines and curated reporting layers.
• Perform data validation, profiling, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, pipeline issues, and Tableau-related defects .
• Document data models, business logic, KPIs, pipelines, and reporting definitions .
• Support testing, deployments, defect resolution, and post-production stabilization .
• Drive continuous improvements in Tableau performance, data architecture, and reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, QA, Architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable reporting solutions.
