Project Executive - PMO Center of Excellence

We're looking for a Project Executive to lead the development and evolution of our PMO Scheduling Center of Excellence. This role will establish enterprise scheduling standards, create and maintain master project templates, and drive consistent planning practices across a complex project portfolio. The Project Executive will partner with Sales, Operations, Resource Management, and AI Automation teams to improve forecasting accuracy, project controls, and reporting capabilities. This leader will conduct project audits, champion scheduling best practices, and strengthen organizational compliance with PMI project management standards. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise-level scheduling, complex project environments, and the ability to build scalable processes that support business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesPMO Scheduling Center of ExcellenceEstablish and lead the PMO Scheduling Center of Excellence.Define and maintain enterprise scheduling standards, methodologies, governance processes, and master project schedule templates.Develop repeatable scheduling frameworks that support project delivery across multiple service lines.Project Planning and ForecastingPartner with Sales and Delivery teams to create customized project schedules that support realistic scope, cost, and timeline assumptions.Improve project forecasting, schedule accuracy, and portfolio visibility.Ensure project schedules account for dependencies, risks, resource constraints, and critical path activities.Support portfolio-level planning and long-range capacity forecasting.Governance and ComplianceLead schedule audits across in-flight projects to evaluate compliance with PMO standards.Identify schedule risks, planning gaps, and opportunities for corrective action.Develop reporting that provides leadership with visibility into project performance and schedule health.PMO Capability DevelopmentDeliver training and coaching to project managers on scheduling best practices and project controls.Serve as a trusted advisor to PMO leadership on scheduling strategy and process improvements.Drive adoption of PMI-aligned project management standards and methodologies.Operational Excellence and TechnologyCollaborate with Operations, Resource Management, and AI Automation teams to identify workflow efficiencies and automation opportunities.Support accurate reporting for earned value, percent complete, critical path, resource constraints, and other project health indicators.Evaluate and recommend scheduling, project management, resource planning, and reporting tools that support future growth.Help strengthen connectivity and data flow across Smartsheet, PSA, and centralized resource management processes.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related fieldProject Management Professional (PMP) certification required10+ years of experience managing highly detailed and complex master project schedules within a PMO, MSP, professional services, consulting, technology, healthcare IT, or similar project-driven environmentDeep expertise in enterprise project scheduling methodologies, project controls, and portfolio planningExperience developing and governing scheduling standards across multiple projects, programs, or portfoliosStrong knowledge of PMI principles, earned value management, percent-complete tracking, critical path analysis, resource forecasting, dependency management, and schedule risk analysisProven success leading PMO governance, audit, compliance, or Center of Excellence initiativesExperience partnering with executive and cross-functional leaders to improve forecasting accuracy, project visibility, and operational performanceStrong analytical, communication, facilitation, training, and stakeholder management skillsExperience using enterprise scheduling and project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, PSA platforms, or comparable solutions.PreferredPMO, program management, enterprise scheduling, or project controls leadership experienceExperience implementing or optimizing Professional Services Automation and resource management processesExperience evaluating and implementing project management technologies and reporting solutionsExperience with AI-enabled workflow automation or digital transformation initiativesAdvanced experience building executive dashboards and project performance reporting frameworks.What Success Looks LikeEnterprise-wide adoption of standardized scheduling methodologies and master project templates.Improved accuracy of project timeline, cost, and resource forecasts.Increased PMO compliance through consistent project audits and governance processes.Enhanced leadership visibility through meaningful project health and performance reporting.Scalable planning processes and technology recommendations that support continued growth.Measurable improvement in project predictability, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.#LI-GB1Netsmart is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer, providing equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals.
