As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. THE PERSON:  As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, proof of concepts and produce solution resolutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Develop and implement System Power Modeling methodologies and frameworksDevelop software/hardware modeling frameworksCover diverse system architectures aligned with product planning segmentsAnalyze systems and profile power impact from components, features and workloadsDriving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across product development and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional initiativesWorking with multiple teams and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on timeWorking closely with product planning and supporting technical teamsLeading collaborative approaches with multiple teams PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  System/segment/product level power modelingPC system and APU/SOC power managementLow power measurement methodologiesPower modeling concepts and methodologiesProgramming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).  Debug techniques and methodologies Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.  Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineeringLOCATION: Austin,TxThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.#LI-PA1#LI-HYBRIDBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
