Quality engineer

job summary:
An industry leading manufacturer of customized, turnkey solutions for the retail and industrial manufacturing space is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team near Eclectic, Alabama. This organization has been established for over 65 years with more than 2.4 million square feet of state-of-the-art production space. In this critical role, you will champion their ISO 9001 Quality Management System development, lead root cause investigations, and work cross-functionally to prevent defects and ensure products meet customer standards.

The starting salary is commensurate with experience up to $90K plus excellent health and retirement benefits. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

responsibilities:

• Assist with ISO 9001:2015 readiness activities, including procedures, records, audits, risk assessments, training, and management review inputs.

• Create and maintain quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions, forms, inspection records, and process flow documentation.

• Support document control and record control activities through SharePoint, Q-Connect, SAP, or other approved systems.

• Participate in internal audits, layered process audits, product audits, and process audits.
  
  
  
• Lead or support root cause investigations for internal defects, customer complaints, supplier issues, escapes, and recurring nonconformances.
  
  
  
• Develop practical shop-floor quality controls, visual standards, setup sheets, inspection aids, and go/no-go gauges.
  
  
  
• Develop inspection plans, check sheets, sampling plans, and quality control methods.
