1st VP Committees

Grade Representative: 
Under the direction of the 1st VP, the grade representative shall be the liaison between the PA, teachers, and parents of their grade level. Shall coordinate the activities of their grade level Room Parents, including class parties, field trips, and grade-level events. There will be one grade representative per grade for Grades DK-5 and up to four grade representatives for Grade 6 (Grade 6 representatives also serve as room parents). Shall also serve on and help manage the Lost and Found Committee, including working one or more Lost & Found shifts, to organize the Lost and Found area multiple times a year. This is a mandatory obligation, and laundry duties are required. Helps with events including STEAM Maker Days, Grandparents’ Day, and must attend Curtis Cares Day.

Time Commitment:
Attends monthly PA meetings and other meetings throughout the year. Must be able to respond to communications within 24 hours. Grade Representative does not select Room Parents. Note: Those wishing to serve as a Grade Representative must have previously been a Room Parent.** Voting Member/One-Year Term/Must Attend All Monthly PA Meetings. 

**Room Parent nominations are announced in late August, coinciding with the release of class lists. Room parents will be selected by a committee, which includes, but is not limited to, the President, Immediate Past President, Division Heads, and the Head of School. 

Lost and Found Chair(s): 
Under the direction of the 1st VP, coordinates the efforts of the Grade Representatives and Room Parents in maintaining the Lost and Found area. Also shares the laundry responsibility with Practically New.

Time Commitment:
Throughout the school year. Voting Member/One-Year Term/Must Attend All Monthly PA Meetings. 

Practically New Uniforms: 
Under the direction of the 1st VP, collects and sells gently used uniforms. Also maintains the organization of the Practically New Closet at least weekly and shares the laundry responsibility of unmarked Curtis uniform items with Lost & Found.

Time Commitment:
Organize the closet on your own schedule, at times that work best for you. This role is a great fit for anyone looking for a flexible, independent way to volunteer. Voting Member/One-Year Term/Must Attend All Monthly PA Meetings.
