Travel RN - Mother Baby - Post Partum

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Post Partum RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of postpartum experience and Epic proficiency. Requirements Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and NRP certifications required Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience required IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience required Epic EMR experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, and medication administration including antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin Experience with post partum care procedures including bladder assessment/Foley catheter insertion, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and breastfeeding instruction Experience with newborn care skills including cord care, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and phototherapy Ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and provide emergency care Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted Responsibilities Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of a hospital setting Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM May float to units of similar acuity Uses Epic EMR system Provide couplet care to postpartum mothers and newborns, including care for cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension Support newborns including large for gestational age, low birth weight, and those with hypoglycemia or neonatal abstinence syndrome Perform pain assessment and management, including opioid administration Administer vaccines as part of patient care Provide discharge teaching to parents, including circumcision care instructions First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees eligible for assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system Local candidates accepted at the same rate RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Job ID: P-739123 Open Positions: 2 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
