Therapy - RRT

Respiratory Care Practitioner

Under general supervision, provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner. Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Record treatment information and patient responses in computerized medical records. Act as a resource person to medical staff. Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provide age-appropriate care to patients. Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records. Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment is essential. Possess clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and the age of the patient. Ability to interpret information to identify patients' needs. Ability to work under stress. Good interpersonal skills are required. Ability to maintain good working relationships with coworkers and staff. Some computer skills are necessary.
