HAIR AND MAKEUP RUN CREWPOSITION: Hair & makeup run crewDEPARTMENT: Run Crew / CostumesFT or PT: Full timeCLASSIFICATION: SeasonalPay Range: $24-26 per hourSCHEDULE: Varied, including nights, weekends and Holidays as neededSTATUS: Non-ExemptREPORTS TO: Costume Director, Huntington Theatre ManagerStatement of Job:Hair and Makeup run crew maintains all wigs and facial hair pieces, performs quick changes as needed, applies wigs and facial hair on and off performers, assists performers with specialized makeup needs, and maintains wig room for all performances of a show run while working in collaboration with the Wardrobe Supervisor and Associate Wardrobe Supervisor as assigned. This position is for staff seasonal full-time workDates of Employment:August 31 start dateWith an expectation of 29 weeks and a possibility of additional weeksJob Duties:Apply wigs and facial hair for each performance including regular contact and communication with the actorsCoordinate with sound department on mic element placementChoreograph and implement quick changesLearn and perfect the styling of each wig from the designerMaintain the wigs and facial hair daily, which includes washing, styling, and cleaningAssist performers with makeup needs, including specialized makeup, tattoo cover, up and any FX makeup/blood.Assist Wardrobe with costume garment quick changes as neededShop and order supplies as needed.Participate in all dress rehearsals, and attends one run through prior to techAssist with strike/clean up at end of production runSupervise use of wig room and support needs for other organizations using our space, as assigned.Follow all established safety and Covid specific policiesRelated duties as assignedIn addition to the duties listed above, The Huntington expects the following of each employee: adheres to Huntington policies and procedures; works in a safe manner; performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues; demonstrates efficient time management and prioritizes workload; demonstrates regular and consistent attendance and punctuality; meets department productivity standards; participates in Huntington events as needed or required; and completes other duties as assigned.Preferred Skills:1-3 years of previous experience (professional or academic)Experience with all hair types including: all textures, lengths, and thicknessKnowledge of hair styling techniques, both modern and historicalKnowledge of makeup styling techniques, both modern and historicalBarber or cosmetology license a plusAbility to follow precise directionsAbility to move quickly and act decisively, sometimes in semi-darknessAbility to work positively and effectively in fast-paced environmentWillingness to learnExcellent interpersonal and verbal skillsMust be able to lift and carry 20 lbs upstairsBackground in theatre is strongly preferred but not required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Huntington Theatre Company Inc
