Job Responsibilities Operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other types of cranes to lift, move, position, and place heavy materials and equipment. Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and hand signals to determine load capacities, lifting procedures, and proper placement of materials. Perform daily pre-operation inspections of cranes, including checking fluid levels, controls, and safety devices, and documenting findings. Maintain clear communication with ground crew, signal persons, and supervisors during lifting operations. Ensure the stability of the crane and the load by verifying proper rigging and load securement. Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and local codes regarding crane operation. Conduct routine maintenance and lubrication of crane components as required. Identify and report any malfunctions or defects of the crane to the appropriate personnel. Assist with other construction tasks on site when not operating the crane. Job Qualifications Valid NCCCO certification for the type of crane being operated. Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a crane operator, preferably in heavy civil construction. High school diploma or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to read, understand, and interpret load charts and operational manuals. Strong understanding of rigging techniques and equipment. Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments. Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with construction work. Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
