RN ICUJob Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our ICU RN at Good Samaritan Hospital, you'll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease. Every day, you will take a report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds. You'll provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan. This could mean assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, or administering medications. To be successful in this role, you'll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You'll clinically care for your patients- remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift. We take care of any critical care patient and specialize in high acuity care. We strive to leverage technology and highly skilled nurses to allow our community and surrounding areas to receive health care close to home.Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you'll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.Unless directed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, applications for this position will be considered on a rolling basis.
