Senior Photonics Characterization Engineer

Aeva is building the next generation of sensing and perception for autonomous vehicles and beyond. With its unique ability to measure instantaneous velocity for each pixel, long-range performance at high resolutions, while being free from LiDAR or sunlight interference, Aeva’s 4D LiDAR is built from the ground up at silicon photonics scale for mass-market applications. We are looking for an expert in photonics characterization to join our core engineering team! What you'll do: Responsible for the characterization of novel optical, electrical, and electro-optical photonic devices and circuits. Strong expertise in understanding, adding to and developing test software Define test plan for devices and circuits and develop new tests Work cross-functionally to transfer tests to production Perform wafer-level and die-level probing using DC and RF probe stations Develop and maintain automated test setups using Python, MATLAB Analyze large datasets to extract trends, correlations, and performance limits using Python, JMP or other similar software. Identify process sensitivities and systematic error sources What you have: Masters or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science or related technical discipline. Hands-on experience in photonic device characterization. Extensive experience with DC/RF probe, wafer-level / die-level tester development. Understanding of silicon photonics devices and architectures.
