No What You’ll Do We have an opportunity for a highly skilled, former P-8A or EP-3 Naval Flight Officer (NFO) to provide subject matter expertise in support of NAVAIR’s Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office, PMA-290. This position will be based at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Key responsibilities as an NFO supporting the Increment 3 (Inc3) program: Advise PMA-290 leadership on the integration and testing of Inc3 combat systems—including mission systems, sensors, environmental systems, and mission planning tools. Apply expert knowledge of current Inc3 capabilities, including Minotaur mission software. Operate P-8A Inc3 systems in lab environments to support system integration and testing goals. Analyze and report on combat system performance, providing written and verbal briefings as needed. Recommend improvements to enhance P-8A Inc3 performance across key mission areas: ASW, ASuW, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) support, and ISR. Support the development and delivery of training materials, potentially including instruction for Integrated Test Teams (ITT). This position will require occasional travel. Requirements What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of operational experience as a P-8A or EP-3 NFO. Strong understanding of maritime patrol mission systems, including recent software and hardware updates. Ability to analyze complex systems, solve problems, and develop actionable recommendations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with engineering software tools and/or systems integration testing. Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes. Equally Important: Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners. Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills. Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently. Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities. Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Security Clearance Requirement: This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Salary Range The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,000–$145,000, commensurate with an individual’s experience, qualifications, and skill set.
