About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering (Acting CTO) to spearhead the development of AI-native products that enhance everyday communication, organization, and workflows. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and owning the technology strategy, architecture, and engineering standards, providing technical leadership across various products, platforms, and teams. This role demands a deep software engineering background, with a focus on building and scaling production systems, and previous experience in senior technology leadership, particularly within high-growth technology, software, or AI environments. The Head of Engineering will be instrumental in establishing a world-class engineering function, improving engineering productivity, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the systems. Key responsibilities for the Head of Engineering include leading major technical decisions, reviewing critical systems and code, and driving the resolution of technical debt and scalability challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, be adept at balancing long-term architecture with the need for rapid delivery, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, technical environment. Success in this role is defined by the ability to influence and raise the technical bar across the organization, as well as to build and nurture high-performing engineering teams. The Head of Engineering will work closely with senior leadership to align the technology strategy with business and product objectives, and will be expected to remain actively involved in critical incidents and complex technical challenges.
