Duties

Help

• Plan and initiate action to distribute, return, or dispose of excess, expired, unserviceable, obsolete, or suspended materiel.
• Compute and analyze materiel requirements for specialized programs and routine operations.
• Conduct supply and demand studies to determine and forecast inventory supply needs.
• Prepare and execute procurement orders utilizing primary commercial vendor systems, mandatory sources of supply, and established contracting vehicles.
• Prepare and submit periodic supply requirements to centralized distribution centers and warehouses.
• Coordinate with other logistics and procurement personnel to consolidate orders, distribute materiel, or revise requirements.
• Monitor, review, and guide the work assignments of subordinate supply staff or support personnel to ensure operational adequacy and accuracy.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Tier 3 (Secret): This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• Incumbent may be required to lift up to 44 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment and random screening thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing to meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting with maintaining the stock levels of a medical supply unit; 2) identifying supply discrepancies and/or recommending supply solutions; 3) reviewing supply orders for technical accuracy; and 4) utilizing various automated supply systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics or Supply Chain Management. OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
