Job Description

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the care of patients of all ages who are experiencing changes in their health. This role is critical in patient/family care through teamwork, effective communication, and professional nursing practice. The RN is responsible for accurate duty completion and adherence to policies while ensuring a high degree of quality patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-focused care for acutely ill or injured patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Ensure patient care is holistic and meets the clinical and emotional needs of patients.
• Triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity and available resources.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for coordinated patient care and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Perform essential job functions within the scope of practice, adhering to current policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct laboratory procedures while following safety guidelines.
• Deliver basic respiratory services and monitor patient conditions using critical thinking and decisive judgment.
• Facilitate patient transfers and discharges while fostering a solution-driven attitude.
• Participate in the development of departmental policies and ensure adherence to current standards of care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and assist with staff training and education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse License in Texas or compact license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
