GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Meet all requirements established by Community Care Licensing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to developmentally appropriate practices for children ages 18 months to 3 years.
• Safely supervise and provide quality care for children ages 18 months to 3 years.
• Foster a positive, nurturing, and respectful environment for children, families, and staff.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of low-income families and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative attitude when interacting with children, families, coworkers, and community partners.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are highly desirable but not required.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATES

• Minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), including the required core courses and 6 semester units in Infant/Toddler Development .
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a licensed early childhood education setting.
• Child Development Teacher Permit preferred.
• Current Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire and maintain it thereafter (fees reimbursed by Storyteller).

SALARY

• $20.00 - $23.00/hour, depending upon experience. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

We operate three fully licensed education centers serving children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
