Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Be a licensed Certified Medication Aide in this state. Be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification. Have a genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment. Provide assistance and emotional support to residents using the Best Friend’s Approach to dementia care. Possess a willingness to continue learning and improving skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality. Be able to maintain patient and tacitful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors.
