Responsibilities
- Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing needs.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop coherent patient care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to encourage progress beyond clinical settings.
- Perform occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Keep detailed and timely documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous education and peer collaboration to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for patients from all age groups, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
