Pharmacy Technician Manager, Inpatient

These roles are responsible for the administration, preparation, dispensing, and management of medications and other health products to ensure safe and effective patient care. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians work in various settings, including pharmacies, the UVA hospitals, clinics, and research facilities. These roles are responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications and supporting pharmacy operations. Responsible for tasks such as filling prescriptions, maintaining medication inventory, and processing insurance claims, ensuring that pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Represents people leaders (hire/fire authority) with majority of time spent overseeing their area of responsibility. Achieve goals through direct and/or indirect reports. Manages/Supervises professional level employees within a Job Area. Focuses on tactical and operational plans and strategy with short to mid-term focus. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and may escalate more complex issues to higher level management. Ensures that staff is utilized efficiently and daily work projects are completed on time and within budget.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associate's degree required; or combination of experience, education, licensure, certification in lieu of degree. Experience: 3+ years of relevant professional experience. Licensure: CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required, registration as Pharmacy Technician with Virginia Board of Pharmacy required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals. The pay range for this role is $57,907.20 - $104,914.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
