Schedule:9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with availability for either Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate billing of insurance providers and patients.
• Submit claims to insurance companies and document l billing denials from insurance providers.
• Handle denials and the appeals process.
• Track incoming revenue.
• Complete payment entry timely & accurately.
• Balance batches & run transaction reports.
• Document payment denials in the practice management system.
• Post adjustments to insurance/patient accounts.
• Verify all EFT deposits & scanned checks have been posted by month end.
• Maintain industry knowledge regarding medical billing & coding procedures, insurance carriers, federal programs etc.

Qualifications:

• Have knowledge of insurance carrier billing requirements.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent (within the last three (3) years) experience in a Home Health or Hospice Setting.
• Electronic Medical Record experience (specifically Home Care Home Base)
• Home Health and or Hospice experience
• Successful completion of high school or GED
• Minimum typing WPM 40+
• 2 years of experience with insurance authorizations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft systems (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills, and good phone etiquette.
• Maintains confidential patient records in accordance with privacy and security standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable state laws.
• High-energy and detail-oriented.

Pay Range: $24–$29 per hour, commensurate with experience.
