Avionics Aircraft Mechanic

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Avionics Aircraft Mechanic in Lake Charles, LA for an onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Avionics Aircraft Mechanic will support aircraft maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection on military aircraft. This is a Service Contract Act position supporting a U.S. Navy program. The role requires strong avionics aircraft experience, the ability to read technical data and schematics, and hands-on experience with aircraft mechanical, electrical, structural, and wiring systems.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant aircraft avionics experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing aircraft mechanical components.
• Experience adjusting, repairing, or replacing aircraft electrical wiring systems and accessories.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering data, technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and written instructions.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
• Experience using aircraft tools and test equipment, including torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
• Experience using manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns.
• Ability to assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and electrical components.
• Ability to work in approved environments during specified work hours.
• Ability to wear a respirator or other safety gear.
• Ability to work around various physical conditions, including heights and closed spaces.

Preferred Skills

• A&P License.
• E-6B/707 experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

What You'll Do

• Maintain, repair, inspect, and modify aircraft structures, systems, components, and engines.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, periodic, phase, and other scheduled inspections.
• Troubleshoot aircraft systems and restore equipment condition and operation.
• Maintain aircraft logs and records.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians during maintenance and modification work.

Work Schedule / Shift

Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:42 pm, with potential overtime.

Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:42 am, with potential overtime.

Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 am - 4:42 pm, with potential overtime.

Thursday-Sunday - 4:00 pm - 2:42 am, potential for overtime.

Pay

$42.04 per hour
