Marshall & Taylor, PLLC is an established North Carolina family law firm dedicated exclusively to helping individuals and families navigate complex and often difficult transitions. We are expanding our presence in Charlotte and seeking an exceptional senior family law attorney to help shape the next chapter of our firm.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished attorney who wants more than another position at another law firm. We are looking for a respected family law litigator with outstanding judgment, strong courtroom skills, and the ability to earn the confidence of clients and colleagues. The successful candidate will play an important role in developing our Charlotte practice, maintaining exceptional legal standards, and helping build a high-performing team.

You will have the support of an established firm, experienced colleagues, and systems designed to support excellent legal work and client service. You will also have the opportunity to influence how the Charlotte office grows and develops.

The Opportunity

• Lead sophisticated family law matters involving complex financial issues, contested custody, and high-conflict litigation.

• Develop case strategies and advocate effectively in court, mediation, and settlement negotiations.

• Help establish and maintain the legal standards, client service expectations, and professional culture of the Charlotte office.

• Mentor and develop attorneys and legal support professionals as the practice grows.

• Work with firm leadership to strengthen the practice, improve workflows, and deliver consistently excellent client service.

• Build trusted relationships with clients and professional contacts while contributing to the long-term growth and reputation of the firm.

Who We Are Looking For

• A North Carolina-licensed attorney with substantial family law experience and a strong record of handling complex matters.

• A Board-Certified Specialist in Family Law, with exceptional judgment and demonstrated litigation ability.

• An accomplished courtroom advocate and negotiator who can independently manage demanding cases.

• A professional who communicates exceptionally well, earns trust, and exercises sound judgment under pressure.

• A natural leader who takes responsibility, develops others, and holds themselves and their team to high standards.

• An attorney who values collaboration, professionalism, integrity, and excellent client service.

Compensation:

$185,000 - $235,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage complex family law cases from inception to resolution, ensuring the highest standards of legal representation.
• Mentor and develop junior attorneys and support staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to refine and implement strategic legal initiatives that enhance client service and firm reputation.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advisement.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, and negotiations, advocating effectively for their best interests.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and empathetic guidance throughout the legal process.
• Drive continuous improvement in legal processes and systems, contributing to the firm's operational excellence and innovation culture.

Qualifications:

• Board-Certified Specialist in Family Law

• Experience in handling complex family law cases with a proven track record of successful outcomes.

• Ability to mentor and develop junior attorneys, fostering a collaborative team environment.

• Proven track record of effective client advocacy in court proceedings, mediation, and negotiations.

• Strong analytical skills to support case strategies and client advisement.

• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships with clear communication and empathetic guidance.

• Experience in collaborating with firm leadership to implement strategic legal initiatives.

• Commitment to continuous improvement in legal processes and systems, contributing to operational excellence and an innovation culture.
