Under the guidance of our experienced Maintenance Operations Supervisor or Lead, you'll get the opportunity to gain valuable field experience while helping maintain and repair city streets, rights-of-way, and storm drainage systems. This entry-level role is perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in a job well done, and wants to be cross-trained in a variety of public works functions.

Representative Duties

• Perform entry level and semi-skilled maintenance and repair of City streets, rights-of-way and storm drainage systems in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Complete work according to specified work orders; completes required daily logs.
• Support the relationship between the City of SeaTac and the citizens by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with residents, visitors, vendors, and City staff; promote the City goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures; provide support to other City departments and participate in task related meetings as assigned.
• Assist and perform repetitive tasks including mowing, edging, line trimming, weeding, brush cutting, pruning, litter control, pesticide/fertilizer application, and traffic control.
• Maintain regular attendance during standard work week.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

- Graduation from high school or GED. - Previous experience in public works or parks maintenance is desired

Licenses and Other Requirements

- Valid Washington State Driver's License. A three-year driving abstract must be submitted prior to hire. - Successful applicants must be able to pass a physical exam and provide their own steel-toed safety boots. - A combination of experience and training that provides the candidate with the knowledge and skills to perform the job is desired.
