Accounting Assistant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations and financial reporting. This onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation and experience supporting month-end and year-end close.
Responsibilities- Handle general accounting functions, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Review transactions for accuracy and resolve account discrepancies.
- Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting procedures.
- Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed.
- 2+ years of general accounting or staff accounting experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
