PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position focuses on the post-anesthesia care unit, providing exceptional care for a diverse patient population. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in high-acuity PACU patients and multiple surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care for patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status, with a focus on hemodynamically unstable patients.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Coordinate with surgical and medical teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Assist in the recovery of patients following orthopedic, spinal, neurological, general, and oncology surgeries.
• Facilitate safe transitions for patients to Phase II recovery or discharge.
• Float to Pre-op and Helping Hands as needed to meet departmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience or 3 years of emergency department experience.
• Experience with high-acuity PACU patients is required.
• Proficiency in managing post-operative care for orthopedic, spine, neuro, general, and oncology patients.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS.
• Ability to manage ventilators and care for hemodynamically unstable patients in Phase I recovery.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
• Open to candidates with a pending license, as long as all other qualifications are met.

Work Schedule

• Day Shift: 09:00 AM - 09:30 PM
• Evening Shift: 11:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Guaranteed hours are 36 per week.
