Registered Nurse - Inpatient Adolescent Behavioral Unit

The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. In this role, the RN will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide day-to-day care of children and adolescents, ages 6-18, on an inpatient behavioral unit, primarily treating major depression and ADD/ADHD. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, daily documentation of patient care, and managing behaviors throughout the unit. Additionally, the RN will participate in and lead education groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care for adolescents aged 6-18.
• Administer medications and provide education to patients and families.
• Document patient care activities and monitor behaviors.
• Participate in leading educational groups within the unit.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule

This position involves 3x 12-hour shifts during the day.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associates Degree in Nursing required.
• Valid State of Maine RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• 1-3 years previous nursing experience, preferably working with adults.
• At least 1 year of previous nursing experience required.
• CPI Training is required.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage stress in challenging situations and maintain professional boundaries.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
