Technical Content Writer – Odoo San Francisco, CA Technical Content Writer Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) – San Francisco, CA, Pacific Time Zone availability required; ineligible for fully remote work. About the role As a Technical Content Writer, you will develop in-depth, accurate, and consumable technical content across Odoo’s content marketing pipelines, including: User Documentation, Product Tours, eLearning Tutorials, Paid & Organic Microcontent, and Whitepapers. The emphasis for this role is technical; candidates must demonstrate the ability to understand customer environments and articulate the value of Odoo products. Writers will learn the ins and outs of the software and become product experts for their scope. You will push/pull documentation markup on GitHub, write scripts for large audiences across eLearning and product tours, and collaborate with other writers, team leads, content producers, and motion designers to bring work to life. Responsibilities Work cross-functionally with R&D, product, technical, and content marketing teams to stay aligned with the latest Odoo features; ensure knowledge is accurately conveyed across user documentation, website product pages, video tutorials, and more. Peer review content using best practices from Odoo’s global and US guidelines. Write quality long-form technical guides, whitepapers, eLearning scripts, and product tour videos to educate users and demonstrate business workflows. Independently author new technical support and user documentation; revise and maintain existing content across Odoo versions. Read and write in RST markup and submit documentation using Git; perform content and technical reviews on GitHub. Manage tasks using Odoo Project, adhering to an annual content calendar. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or related field. 1+ year of experience in technical writing, focusing on business applications or software platforms. A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating technical documentation skills. Experience with technical documentation in ERP or SaaS environments. Proficiency with Git/GitHub or similar version control, or willingness to learn. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have Experience with SaaS platforms or within a SaaS company. Valuable Traits You value precision in language and technical expertise, with ability to rewrite articles clearly.
