Location: Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center (ZCCHC) Dental Department – 21B Avenue Zuni, New Mexico 87327 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Closed on federal holidays Employment Options and Pay: W-2 Employee $118.75 per hour $1246 weekly per diems $5996 gross weekly pay (based on 40 hours) $2000 travel allowance 1099 Independent Contractor $150 per hour $6000 gross weekly pay (based on 40 hours) $2000 travel allowance
Position Overview: ZCCHC is seeking a licensed Dentist to provide comprehensive dental services to our rural Native community. You will join a dedicated team delivering preventive, diagnostic, and restorative care while supporting community education and outreach.
Requirements: Doctorate in Dentistry from an accredited school Active, unrestricted U.S. state license in Dentistry Clinical experience demonstrating the ability to independently manage a caseload Knowledge of anesthetic and pharmaceutical requirements
Duties: Perform diagnostic, preventive, and restorative dental procedures, including endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric care Fit crowns, bridges, and dentures; provide preventive orthodontic services Administer anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and analgesia Educate patients on oral health and participate in community education programs Review dental history, interpret x-rays, and maintain accurate EHR documentation Ensure proper use and preventive maintenance of dental equipment Comply with IHS and ZCCHC policies, quality standards, and infection control protocols
Community: ZCCHC is located on the Zuni Pueblo, 150 miles west of Albuquerque in the high desert of New Mexico. We serve a population of about 14,000, primarily Zuni and Navajo, where language, customs, and traditions are deeply valued. Our health center offers family medicine, 24/7 emergency care, inpatient services, and a range of specialty care, including dental.
