This position is based out of our Herndon, VA location with the option of a remote work schedule.This is a mid-level position for a Full Stack Engineer. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with the smartest team and the very latest technologies, then this is the job for you!ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement web application features using modern web frameworks and techniques, from requirements to production and deploymentAdd new functionality and solve customer-facing bugs within an existing web applicationContribute to the architecture and design of new and existing User InterfacesPrepare prototypes/screenshots to share with stakeholders for review and approvalAdvice on best practices, new techniques, software quality, and process improvementCreate, modify, and maintain RESTful Web ServicesDevelop applications built with Go, GraphQL, Vue, and similar modern technologiesAssist with the estimation of time and effort required to implement new featuresParticipate in design reviews, peer code reviews, and improve overall product qualityInterface with cross-functional teams to successfully implement feature dependenciesAct as a member of an Agile scrum teamQualifications3+ years of related full-stack developmentProven working experience in front and back-end application developmentStrong expertise with various JavaScript frameworks (Vue, Angular, etc.)Strong expertise with Web Services and RESTful ApplicationsExpertise with NodeJS, WebSockets and in-depth understanding of Microservices methodologiesFamiliarity with HTML5 and CSS3Familiarity with system-level issues such as scaling, security, and responsivenessSolid programming experience in object-oriented design and developmentLinux or a POSIX O/S environmentFamiliarity with software configuration management, defect tracking tools, and peer reviewStrong documentation and writing skillsAdditional experience in the following areas is a plusKnowledge of satellite communication protocolsC++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languageUnderstanding of SQL and database access for relational Databases; PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQLWorking knowledge of NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB, etc.)Familiarity with Responsive Design Frameworks such as BootstrapFamiliarity with developing web interfaces for embedded devices a plusNetworking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP and IPv6Familiarity with Docker, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Go, Conan, cmake, C++11Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Git, SharePoint, Jenkins and ArtifactoryEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software, Systems, Mathematics, or related technical field.Clearance: Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain a secret level DoD clearance.Travel: 0-10%iDirect Government is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
