Position Description: Diagnose and repair HVAC control systems, building automation and low voltage electrical controls. Maintain, repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.

• Manage, repair and service various environmental control systems in buildings and other establishments on Post
• Troubleshoot basic controls circuits including starters, safety shutdowns and typical HVAC systems
• Use hand tools and instruments for repair of controls systems.
• Pull and terminate wires to controllers, components, and devices using wiring diagrams, and installation instructions
• Repair and/or replace electrical wiring between controls and equipment.
• Work from floor plans, blueprints, specifications, and schematics
• Document work by completing required paperwork for each work order
• Record parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperation and teamwork
• Provide backup support for other team members.
• Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as projects require

Required Qualifications and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. • HVAC Universal Certification required
• Vocational School four-year program or an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field
• Three years of industry experience or five years' experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• PC experience and the ability to program HVAC related software.
• Experience in O&M to include support of a work force that is responsible for O&M and repair of all facility systems, subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a Base Operating Services contract.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• General knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on Building Automation equipment on a job site.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of Lock out / Tag out procedures.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver's license and insurable driving record.
