Custodian

Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in Cheraw, South Carolina to find an experienced and eager custodian to join their growing team!

The custodian will maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of offices, restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and common areas while ensuring the building meets cleanliness and safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces.

• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.

• Clean and restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.

• Clean windows, doors, and other glass surfaces as needed.

• Maintain break rooms and other shared spaces.

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs.

• Set up and move tables, chairs, and other equipment as needed.

• Safely operate custodial equipment and use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.

• Keep custodial supplies and storage areas clean and organized.

• Perform other general cleaning and custodial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is required.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Dependable with excellent attendance.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

• Basic communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Push and pull cleaning carts and equipment.

• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $10.00 per hour

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Pay Details: $10.00 per hour
