Senior Dental Assistant

Pay Range: Targeted salary up to $43,800 depending on education and experience.


Benefits Eligible: Yes


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Travel: Not required


Position Introduction:


The OU College of Dentistry seeks an experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join the Diagnostic and Preventative Sciences Department working in Periodontics. The selected candidate will provide chair side dental assistance, prepare and sterilize equipment, and provide administrative assistance within the Periodontic Clinic.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years experience performing chair side dental assistance.

Equivalency/Substitution: Possession of a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential may be substituted for1 year of dental assisting experience


Required Certifications and Licenses:

• Current Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Current CPR Certification
• Required to have 2 of the 4 Certifications from Oklahoma Board of Dentistry:
  • Radiation Protection and Safety
  • Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride
  • Placement of Pit and Fissure Sealants
  • Assisting in the Administration of Nitrous Oxide
