(AHP), a Joint Commission Certified supplemental healthcare staffing agency, is seeking experienced Pre-Op / Post-Op Registered Nurses (RNs) to support the VA Northern California Health Care System in Martinez, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses seeking a full-time (Monday–Friday schedule) position at a VA healthcare facility Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pre-Operative / Post-Operative Location: VA Northern California Health Care System – Martinez, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Pay: $75.00/hr / $3,000/week Requirements U.S. Citizenship is required for Federal Employment (VA) positions. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of two (2) years of current, consecutive Pre-Op and/Post-Op nursing experience. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Life Support (ACLS) certification. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments, monitor patient status, and implement physician orders to ensure patients are safely prepared for surgical procedures and receive appropriate post-operative care, including, but not limited to: Assess patient readiness for surgical and procedural interventions Review medical histories, obtaining and monitor vital signs Initiate and maintain IV therapy, administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physicians orders Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) Provide patient education regarding pre-operative preparation, post-operative recovery, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to caring for Veteran patients. Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Maintain compliance with VA policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures Why Join Associated Health Professionals Inc.
