About the Role
Our firm is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist on behalf of a client in the property and casualty insurance industry . This contract position plays a key role in supporting day-to-day IT operations and ensuring employees have reliable access to the technology, equipment, and applications required to perform their work effectively.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and experienced in IT support, device deployment, asset management, and ticket resolution. This role involves both hands-on technical support and operational tasks within a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Job Description
The Desktop Support Specialist will support daily depot and end-user computing operations by managing equipment, resolving technical issues, and fulfilling service requests. This individual will work closely with internal teams to maintain technology assets and provide timely support for hardware, software, and mobile devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage incidents, service requests, and tasks through ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, peripheral, and application-related issues.
• Deploy, configure, and support desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and other end-user devices.
• Support onboarding activities, including provisioning and preparing equipment for new hires.
• Perform device imaging, configuration, quality assurance testing, and refresh activities.
• Provide support for corporate mobile devices, including iPhones.
• Update and maintain accurate asset inventory records.
• Package and ship equipment for employee returns and redeployments.
• Receive, inventory, and store incoming hardware shipments from vendors.
• Perform basic hardware repairs and equipment maintenance.
• Complete equipment upgrades and support technology refresh initiatives.
• Respond to miscellaneous support requests and operational tasks assigned through service queues.
• Follow established IT processes, documentation, and service-level expectations.

Qualifications
Required

• 1+ years of experience in desktop support, help desk, IT support, or a related technical support role.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows-based hardware and software issues.
• Familiarity with ticket management systems such as ServiceNow.
• Experience deploying, imaging, configuring, and supporting end-user devices.
• Knowledge of desktop hardware, peripherals, and mobile device support.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience supporting enterprise environments with large-scale device deployments.
• Knowledge of IT asset management processes and inventory tracking.
• Experience supporting Apple iPhones and mobile device management solutions.
• Familiarity with hardware repair and diagnostics.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, or similar credentials.
• Experience supporting onboarding, refresh, and lifecycle management programs.
