Financial Aid Counselor

Job Summary This position administers financial aid programs by evaluating student eligibility, processing and awarding financial aid, maintaining student records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing financial aid counseling and support to students and their families. Responsibilities Advising& Support Advises students and parents regarding the availability of financial aid, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Determinesstudenteligibilityforcertaintypesoffinancial aid. Awards federal, state, institutional and private sources of financial aid to students within appropriate guidelines and regulations. Administersfinancialliteracy sessions. Coordinatesexitcounselingforrequiredstudent groups. Reviewsstudentsatisfactoryacademicprogress(SAP) evaluations. Complianceand Regulations Ensures compliance with federal, state, institutional, and other applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding financial aid. Reviews student eligibility and awards to ensure adherence to established financial aid regulations and guidelines. Maintainsaccuratedocumentationandrecordsrequiredforfinancialaid programs. Assistswithnewstudentorientationandopenhouse events. Other Duties Performsotherrelateddutiesas assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor¿sdegreefromanaccreditedinstitutionofhigher education.
