The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking candidates for a Neuro-Oncologist to contribute to our tripart mission at the VCU School of Medicine. This position is an Open Rank (rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications) full-time faculty position in the Division of Neuro-Oncology, Department of Neurosurgery. The faculty member will provide direct patient care, engage in medical student and neurology resident and fellow education, and participate in clinical research.

Clinical responsibilities include care of Neuro-oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The faculty member will teach medical students and housestaff. They will be expected to participate in a series of formal conferences for the housestaff and students emphasizing issues in Neuro-oncology. They will attend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon occasion as requested. The faculty member will be expected to participate in and, when appropriate, lead, clinical research and clinical trials. They will serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g. reviewer, conference organizer, etc.

Minimum qualifications include an MD or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent), successful completion of a neurology residency and neuro-oncology fellowship at accredited institutions, eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia, board certification or board eligible in Neurology (ABPN) and Neuro-Oncology (UCNS), and demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Salary range is commensurate with experience. FLSA exemption status is exempt. This position is not a restricted position, ORP eligible, and offers other flexible work arrangements. The rank and tenure are open, and the position is for 12 months.
