Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Buda Shift/Status: Full-time, 3x12's Schedule: Night Shift (7pm - 7am)-Seasonal 13 week contract Main Nursing Unit Patient Population: Medical Surgical, Orthopedics, Intermediate Care, Critical Care # of beds: 15 Patient Ratios: Med Surg/Tele - 1:4/5, Progressive Care/Intermediate Care - 1:3, Intensive Care - 1:2 This is a mixed acuity unit. Ideal candidates must have ICU experience and must be willing to take med/surg, tele, or IMC assignments as needed by the department. Baylor Scott & White - Buda features a 15-bed Main Nursing Unit which is a blended unit with three levels of acuity and operates from a multidisciplinary approach in providing the highest standards of nursing care to patients and families. The facility also offers 24/7 emergency services (an 8-bed Emergency Department) and surgical services (offering adult and pediatric surgeries). Job Summary As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment. Essential Functions Of The Role Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards. Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed. Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff. Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
