Data Scientist / AI Engineer

Experienced Data Scientist Opportunity

Narrative BI is looking for an experienced data scientist with a passion for building AI-native analytics products. As we expand our agentic analytics platform, we're looking for someone who can design and maintain the LLM-powered workflows and data pipelines that power our AI Data Analyst and NBI.AI insights. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to transform raw, messy data into reliable, real-time insights across Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, Google Analytics, and more.

You'll be responsible for building and scaling the infrastructure that connects customer data to LLM-based agents, enabling automated, conversational analytics across industries like SaaS, ecommerce, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Build a robust insights generation platform for our customers
• Design and implement LLM-based pipelines that turn structured data into actionable narratives
• Integrate new data sources via APIs or ingestion pipelines, ensuring compatibility with AI agents
• Identify and present business metrics for our customers in various data sources
• Drive a data-driven culture by developing a nuanced business understanding, testable hypotheses, and meaningful findings from customer data
• Evaluate LLM performance and propose improvements in cost, speed, and accuracy
• Own the full cycle of the data science workflow from data requirements, data collection, data reporting, insights/alerts/reports generation
• Conduct ad hoc data research that drives key business decisions across functional areas

Qualifications

• Must-Have: Strong Python and SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Must-Have: Experience with modern LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and prompt engineering
• Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., Airbyte) and AWS/GCP stack
• Deep understanding of metrics modeling, schema design, and orchestration
• Experience with observability or alerting systems, anomaly detection, or BI tools
• 3+ years experience as a data scientist
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player, polite and transparent work approach
• Extremely structured and detail-oriented person.
